Due to my travel around the United States and overseas providing dog training and rehabilitation services, group classes can be set up with your group or organization to best meet your needs and our schedules. Group classes are a great way to provide socialization and to connect dog owners to encourage further socialization and exercise beyond class time. Teaching group classes since 2001 has been a such a joy for me with the opportunity to work with incredible dogs and their owners!
One-on-one training at the time & location of your choice is available throughout the year. Please see more information on that on the one-on-one link. I travel extensively doing those and work to find a time that works for you! This is always the best option for a dog challenged with aggression.
An example of a custom group class is when I partner with the University of Minnesota Extension/4-H to prepare an outstanding group of young people & their dogs for agility competition. They learn to train a dog for agility, obedience, showmanship or as an ideal pet. Topics include canine behavior, breed characteristics, diseases, ethics, grooming, health, nutrition, responsible breeding, service dogs, therapy dogs, dog-related careers, and the wide array of dog sports.
Basic Obedience* Our goal is to raise dogs that are well-mannered, exercised and socialized with other dogs and humans through the use of both structured & off-leash play. We’ll practice the leadership that provides the safety & guidance dogs thrive on, along with correcting problem behaviors. We work on strategies & optimal conditions for promoting start behaviors, with the stay & recall being most important.
Puppy Prep* This is a great way to get your 3- 6 month old puppy exercised & socialized with lots of off-leash playtime, as we introduce the basics of good behavior, such as eye-contact, wait, come & loose leash walking. The focus will be on socialization, household manners, house training, chewing & best toys. If your puppy’s age is towards 6 mos. and is a larger breed, the Basic Dog Obedience Class is recommended.
For all locations, please:
-Call me to discuss the best training situation should your dog show signs of aggression towards either humans or dogs.
WEATHER EMERGENCY PLAN: If the local school district for the class meeting site is closed for the day or has an early release due to bad weather, our class will be cancelled and the session will be extended for the make-up class.
